2019 Capacity Builder's Conference: Facing Power and Privilege in Capacity Building

If you are a consultant, coach, funder, academic, or executive engaged in capacity building for nonprofits, the Alliance for Nonprofit Management annual conference is the place to be.

This one-of-a-kind event allows you to join with others in the field for a unique opportunity to convene and network, dialogue and share, learn and grow, and shape and advance our field for the good of the nonprofits and communities we serve. 

This year our theme is Facing Power & Privilege in Capacity Building. And we’ll be gathering at the Drury Plaza Hotel across from The Arch in St. Louis for an exciting three-day event includes an array of over 20 engaging workshops curated specifically for capacity builders by capacity builders, work-sessions for the Alliance’s Affinity & Interest Groups, and thought-provoking plenary and keynote sessions. As capacity builders, each engagement with a client or project forces us to confront questions of power and privilege. Whether we are helping with program evaluation, facilitating strategy, assisting with communications, or guiding fundraising efforts, we must grapple with how power can and should be used to create change.

Plan to join us in St. Louis as we explore questions of power and privilege in the sector and how as capacity builders we can navigate, expose, and influence these issues and help our clients and communities do the same.
