New Generation Leadership Training for Public Housing Residents
Dates:
Location:
This training builds on the Public Housing Training Program’s Resident Leader training to help participants work more closely and effectively in their communities. We are offering this in partnership with trainer George Luse as part of the Resident Leader curriculum update process.
The training will help residents work together to discover commonalities in their experiences and learn more about how to:
- Build inclusive networks across language, race and other factors
- Identify key issues based on patterns in their experiences (such as lighting, trash, maintenance, security, etc.)
- Take steps to reach solutions to these issues
- Build on successes to continually increase resident voice and power for the long-term.
Space for this training is very limited. It is open to Peer Trainers and other public housing residents who have already taken the PHTP Resident Leader training. Residents must attend in teams of two or more. To register, contact Sarah Byrnes at sarahb@macdc.org or 617.379.5984. Space will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis for residents who meet the criteria.
