About the Instructor: Stephanie O’Leary, Senior Consultant, has over 16 years of financial and accounting experience, the majority of which has been in the nonprofit sector. Her experience includes overseeing all financial accounting/operations, financial reporting & forecasting, budgeting, administration of grants, developing and improving processes and procedures, human resource administration and supervising a diverse staff. Her audit experience includes working with government and external auditing firms. She has extensive experience working with organizations that receive federal funding and are subject to audit under OMB Circular A-133. While at AMS, Ms. O’Leary has served as a part-time Chief Financial Officer and Special Projects Specialist for several nonprofit organizations in the Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York areas. Her client base has been comprised of primarily community development corporations and human service. She was the part time CFO of NOAH (Neighborhood of Affordable Housing) and Historic Boston for approximately three years and currently for Viet-Aid. Stephanie has developed cost containment strategies for operational efficiency including program and staffing analysis, review of fundraising opportunities (identifying federal and state opportunities, as well as private grants) and expense reduction opportunities. She worked with Senior Management team and Board of Directors to put together a multi-year business plan and budget and to identify key metrics to implement a dashboard report. Stephanie has developed and implemented a cost allocation plan. She has led a software selection process and designed chart of accounts for various clients. Additionally, she has developed and presented numerous training seminars for AMS. Stephanie is highly skilled in a number of financial software packages which include Peachtree, QuickBooks, MIP and Financial Edge. She earned a B.A degree from the University of Rhode Island and an M.P.A. in Finance and Human Resources from Suffolk University. Stephanie is AMS certified for the Rapid Diagnostic™.
