Do You Want To Learn How Local Tax Assessors Value Affordable Rent-Restricted Properties? 

 

This training will focus on the appropriate communication with your local assessor, both during construction and after project completion and stabilization, and how to test your property tax assessment.  A model for valuing affordable rent-restricted properties, recently developed by the Massachusetts Chapter of the International of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO), the product of a working group convened by the Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) and with participation by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR), will be presented.

 

The training will be conducted by John E. Ryder, Jr., Managing Consultant at national property tax consultant Marvin F. Poer and Company, and with participation by Judith S. Jacobson, Deputy Director & General Counsel of MHP, convener of the working group of assessors and DOR.

 

This is a breakfast meeting, also available as a webinar, on Friday, June 8, 2018, from 9:30 – 11:00 am at MHP, 160 Federal Street, 2nd floor, Boston.  Cost is $35 ($25 for members of MACDC).
